Gjevre Family from Valdres
Three of the Gjevre siblings and their families emigrated from Vang, Valdres, Norway, to Minnesota in 1866 aboard the Fredrik Pedersen. They settled first in Goodhue County before following the Abercrombie Trail to west central Minnesota.
They were later joined by nieces and nephews who emigrated in the 1880’s, some of whom settled in Minnesota, and others who moved on to the Dakotas.
