HeenBook has six libraries and two archive rooms located throughout numerous buildings. The libraries are divided by subject areas.  The library in the school is focused upon Minnesota and local history,  Norwegian American History, Norwegian History, Emigration/Immigration, Genealogy, Maps and Plat Maps, Photography, Postcards, Geography, Farming, Economic Geography and bygdeboks from select districts in Norway.  This collection also includes materials from the Minnesota Genealogical Society, the Naeseth Library and the Minnesota Historical Society. 

The Archives hold photographs, film, slides, audio-video equipment, family records and objects, original country school books and classroom materials, rare or delicate artifacts, files, memorabilia, preservation records and materials.
